Welcome to the Unalaska Airport Master Plan Update Project Portal
Welcome to the Unalaska Airport Master Plan Update (MPU) project web site provided to assist you in keeping up to date on the master plan update development. Use this site to review materials and keep in contact with the project team.
The scope for this work includes development of a complete Master Plan Update and definition of projects ripe for implementation that will enable the Contracting Agency to request that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) initiate an environmental process to gain approval and program funding for these near-term projects.
The Master Plan Update (MPU) for the Unalaska Airport builds on efforts recently completed preparing for an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for improvements needed at the airport. The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is the contracting and managing agency for this MPU project.
The primary goal of public outreach is to develop a complete master plan update with the understanding and acceptance of the City of Unalaska, Federal Aviation Administration and other airport stakeholders. The goal also includes identification of individual projects out of the master plan that are ripe for a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) decision that meets DOT&PF's, the City of Unalaska's, and FAA's objectives.
Check this web site periodically for updates and new information.
